La selección del miembro alterno por la sociedad civil de Latinoamérica que integrará la Representación LAC ante la Junta del Fondo Mundial para el período comprendido entre noviembre de 2017 y octubre de 2019 finalizó con el siguiente resultado:
Miembro alterno de la sociedad civil de Latinoamérica: Sr. Javier Luis Hourcade Bellocq, Argentina
Miembro alterno suplente de la sociedad civil de Latinoamérica: Sr. Yoire Ferrer Savigne, Cuba
El proceso de postulación se llevó a cabo según lo dispuesto en los términos de referencia aprobados en 2013. Se procedió además a la rotación prevista entre ambas subregiones, pasando a ejercer la titularidad la subregión del Caribe y la alternativa, la subregión de Latinoamérica. La convocatoria tuvo fecha límite el 25 de septiembre y se recibieron ocho propuestas en tiempo y forma. Es importante destacar que la expresión de interés para integrar la Representación LAC es un proceso abierto.
Queremos manifestar nuestro reconocimiento al Sr. Sergio López (SOMOSGAY, Paraguay), miembro alterno de la sociedad civil de Latinoamérica y representante de la juventud en el período que concluye, al tiempo que felicitamos al Sr. Javier Luis Hourcade Bellocq por su continuidad en la función y damos una cordial bienvenida al Sr. Yoire Ferrer Savigne en su nuevo rol.
Agradecemos de manera especial a todos/as aquellos/as que difundieron la convocatoria e identificaron y respaldaron las candidaturas, así como a todos/as los/as que se presentaron mostrando su interés y compromiso por prestar su servicio en la lucha contra estas enfermedades.
The final results of the nomination process for members of the Latin America Civil Society to become Alternate Members of LAC Representation to the Global Fund Board for the period between November 2017 and October 2019 are as follows:
Alternate Latin America CSO Member – Mr Javier Luis Hourcade Bellocq, Argentina
Substitute Alternate Latin America CSO Member – Sr. Yoire Ferrer Savigne, Cuba
The nomination process was carried out in keeping with the Terms of Reference approved in 2013. According to the rotation agreed between Sub-regions, the Caribbean Sub-region becomes Member and the Latin America Sub-region becomes Alternate. The Call for Nomination was issued with a deadline on September 25th and 8 nominations were received in due form. The expression of interest to become a member of the delegation is an open process.
On behalf of all the people of the LAC Region, I would like to express our gratitude to the Alternate Latin America CSO and Youth Representative – Mr Sergio López (SOMOSGAY, Paraguay), for his participation during the current period. We would also like to recognize Mr Javier Luis Hourcade Bellocq for his continuity in collaborating as well as expressing a warm welcome to Mr Yoire Ferrer Savigne in his new role.
We especially thank all those who disseminated the call and actively identified and proposed candidates as well as all those who were nominated demonstrating their willingness and commitment to serve in the fight against the three diseases.
